Fell Off the Face of the Earth!

Sorry bout that, but we've been crazy with moving/packing/flying solo with an infant/finding a new house, etc., etc., etc. I hope you've had fun with the recent deals and have already hit Walgreens for some Robitussin!

Walgreens:

Time to stock up for the upcoming cold/flu season!

Deal #1:

Buy 3 Robitussin @$3.99 each = $11.97

Use 3 of these $3 printables = -$9 (by the way, you can use Valued Customer as your name, so that you don't have a bunch of coupons out there with your name on them!)

Pay $2.97 + tax and get a $10 RR

Deal #2:

Buy 3 Dimetapp (these are the only kid ones on sale) = $11.97

Use 3 of these $2 printables = - $6

Pay $5.97 + tax and get a $10 RR

Visine is also a great one if you have some of the August All You magazines. There is a $3 Q in there that you can stack with the $2 EasySaver Q. Remember to give the MQ first, then the ESQ since Walgreens doesn't allow overage from MQs, only store Qs.

Chex Mix is .99, so if your store doesn't freak out about this $1 Q (by the way, I had to use Firefox to print this one) being over the price of the item, then it is free! You may want to stack it with some of these .60 Qs (page 2) and pay a few cents to avoid the beeps.

Rite Aid:

Where are all the freebies this week?

I just wanted to give you guys a heads-up to look for the school supply coupons that are at some of the Rite Aids. They are on a regular size sheet of white paper in a tearpad, often by the registers and there are some awesome Qs! The Main St. Rite Aid in Puyallup as well as the Meridian St. Rite Aid in Puyallup have had these coupons out for the taking!

Use them this week to get free Elmers glue and Mead notebooks (even a little overage on this one!)

Make sure to grab the prescription coupons in the KMart and Target ads!!!! These are good on NEW prescriptions!

I Heart Overage!

Rite Aid #1:

3 John Frieda hairsprays .89 each (used $3/2 Q) = -.33 (Note: if you haven't done the $5 rebate, you can get $5.33 overage!)

2 St. Ives lotions .99 each & BOGO (used 2 $1/1 Qs) = -$1.01

3 BeFine packets $1.99 each (used 3 $5 Qs) = -$9.03

1 Crest $2.99 (used .75 Q and it's FAR) = -.75

1 Infant Tylenol $9.99 (used $1 Q, this is what I really needed, I just used the overage to get it free!) = $8.99

Total = $2.85 and I'll be getting $2.99 back in rebates and I got my expensive baby medicine free!

Rite Aid #2:

Found 3 more John Frieda hairsprays .89 each (this time they scanned both the $3/2 and the $1/1 Qs!) = -$1.33

3 BeFine $1.99 each (used 3 $5 Qs) = -$9.03

4 Trident Extra Care gums $1.49 each (used 2 Rite Aid BOGO Qs and 2 BOGO MQs) = free!

2 Floaties $2.49 each = $5.98 (for my sister!)

1 Dora sippy cup = $6.29

1 Baby Wipes = $1 (my baby decided she was done shopping and spit up on me!)

1 Princess ball = .99

Total = $4.82

Walgreens:

5 Prep H wipes $3.99 each (used 5 $3 MQs and $2 ESC Q - takes $2 off each one -) = -$5.05

4 Crayons .39 each = $1.56

1 Disney Baby boat = $6.69 (I accidently packed our other one!)

Total = $5.68, which I put on my gift card, so no oop!

Free Cards at Safeway + Possible Overage!

Update: Slickdeals is reporting that it is actually Buy 4 cards, Get $5 off - that means overage when you buy the .99 cards! Let me know if your store actually has signs to back this up!

Thanks to Mommy Making Money for the heads-up on this one! Here's the deal:

Buy 5 of the .99 Hallmark cards and get $5 off your order = 5 free cards, no tax even!

I tried it today and at my Safeway it wasn't marked as a promo, but it totally worked! I did it twice! 10 free cards! This deal goes until 9/20, so stock up!

I also scored at Rite Aid and Walgreens with my overages today - I'll post pics and details later!

Overage Opportunities This Week

So, I had another open house and after looking at all the ads, I just wasn't pumped to type up all the not-so-great deals this week. Instead, I'll share some little overage secrets:

Walgreens:

There are Preparation H travel wipes alongside the other Prep H products that are priced $3.99. Go here and print off as many $3 MQs as you would like. Then pull the $2 ESC Q out and you have overage!

Prep H pack = $3.99
MQ = -$3
ESC Q = -$2

Total = $1.01 overage!

Rite Aid:

Today I found the travel size John Frieda hairsprays were on clearance at my store. Use with the $3/2 tearpad Qs:

3 - John Frieda hairsprays = $2.67
$3/2 MQ = -$3
Rite Aid rebate when you buy 3 John Frieda products = -$5

Total = $5.33 overage!

I couldn't find the St. Ives (Elements?) that has a BOGO Q in the paper, so I bought 2 of the .99 St. Ives lotions and used 2 $1/1 Qs = 2 free lotions and $1.01 overage!

The FAR Crest toothpaste has a .75 P&G Q, so that is .75 overage. Plus, FAR items are a great way to hide your overage!

Of course, the BeFine thing is still working - so get them while this coupon still works!

Please remember to be kind to other couponers and make sure to cover your overage with other products and don't go overboard with your purchases, so that the cashiers don't tattle on us for our good finds.

A Few Great Resources...

I totally meant to remind you about these gems last month!

Caregivers Marketplace:

This is just a site where you sign up, then print off a cash back request form for lots of items that many of us buy anyway and you'll get cashback just for submitting receipts. I don't get any kickback for this, I just want to remind you that you could be getting some cash! For example - remember the Nature Made FAR item last month? The Rx Essentials vitamins? Yep, once you have submitted your receipt online you can attach it to your Caregivers Marketplace form and get $1! Same for those Huggies diapers or Pull-ups or Little Swimmers! It's like free money!

NatureMade Wellness Rewards:

While we're discussing NatureMade vitamins...you can enter the codes on the packages and earn points towards really great NatureMade coupons ($5+) - these come in super handy when they are BOGO or a FAR item = $$$$

Grocery Deals 8/13

Albies:

Not alot to jump up and down for, but there are a few things:

I'm super excited about the Buy $10, Get $2 off promo on the Yoplait items:

Here's the best scenario:

Buy 5 Yo-Plus yogurt packs = $10
Automatic $$$ off = -$2
Use 5 - $1 Qs (here, here, here, here, here or from last week's box tops insert) = -$5
Total = .60 for each 4-pack, not bad since that is about what one container usually costs!

There is also a Spend $20 on Unilever products, Save $5 instantly promo:

The most exciting thing is probably the Wisk/All detergent scenario:

Buy 6 Wisk/All = $20
Automatic $$ off = -$5
Use 6 $1 All coupons from here or from this month's All You issue = -$6
or use 6 $1.50 Wisk coupons from 7/13 RedPlum insert = -$9

So, depending on your Qs, you could be paying $9 or $6 for 6 detergents. This isn't as sweet as this deal, but still not a bad stock up price. I had to get a raincheck, since they were totally out of my favorite type for a few weeks - but well worth it in the end!

You may also want to mix in some Wishbone dressing, since that has some .60 Qs out there or Lipton has a $1 Q here or in the May paper inserts (long time ago!)

Albies also has Goldfish crackers BOGO, they end up being 2/$2.49.

Note: If you haven't done your Kellogg's $10 rebate, I might suggest using the Safeway Super Coupons, along with the Albies Kellogg's coupon to get a great deal on some cereal.

The back page of the ad with all of the produce is hilarious - just read the 1 or 2 words under each item (Sweet, Ripe, Juicy Sweet, Solid Head, Good for You) - just made me giggle a little.

Safeway:

Honestly, I'm probably skipping Safeway this week. Looks pretty lame.

If you haven't used up your free 12-pack vouchers from mycokerewards.com, then you could use them this week, since they're B2,G2 free. By the way, mycokerewards isn't offering the free 12-pack vouchers right now, I've heard that it is a cyclical thing, so maybe later in the year it will come back.

I would use the Kellogg's super Qs with the Albies Kellogg's Q, so that you can actually get close to 10 products at the really good sale prices for the $10 rebate.

Walgreens & Rite Aid Runs

Walgreens:

I did the Buy $5 of Pert, Get $5 of school supplies free deal:

2 Pert Plus (used 2 - $3 MQ, plus they are FAR this month) = -1.42

6 Jumbo crayons (yes, these weren't the cheapest way to go about the $5 rebate, but they are going into the goodie bags for my daughter's birthday - sorry to let out the secret!) = $5.94 - $5 rebate = .94!

HP printer paper (used $3 MQ) = .99

Scott TP (used $1.99 Walgreens Q and $1 MQ) = .99

So, after rebates & everything, my total = $1.50 + tax!

Rite Aid:

I scored at Rite Aid!

I found the trial size John Freida hairspray up by one of the registers (used $3/2 and $1/1 tearpad Qs and they are on rebate when you buy 3 = $5) = -$3.63

6 Bic Mark-Its (used 3 - $1/2 MQs) = free!!! So perfect for marking moving boxes!

2 BeFine single use packages (used 2 - $5 Rite Aid Qs) = -$6.02

Fructis Shine Drops (used $1 MQ and they are FAR this week) = -$1

Astroglide = FAR

Total = -$8.60

Read the post below for coupon links and more info!

Another Open House Getting In The Way!

Sorry this is late, but I had to leave the house for another open house...please sell house!!!!!!!

Rite Aid:
Great overage possibility!!! There was a Rite Aid coupon book that came out in the paper today and my Rite Aid had copies of it as well - on page 5 is a $5 Q for Befine Skin Care. The picture above is one of the $1.99 single serve packs. They are located in one of the cardboard display thingies with all of the other new beauty products. The $5 Q works, no problem = instant $3 overage!!!!!!!!
Use your overage on one of the free items this week:
Garnier Fructis Shine Glistening Drops (use with recent $1 Q) = $1 overage!
Marc Anthony Root Touch-Up Kit = FAR (3 Day rebate - only until 8/12)
Personal Lube or Astroglide = FAR
Bic Mark-It Markers (use with $1/2 Q here or from today's paper) = free
I hope you used your $2.25 Electrasol Qs if you had any left since they expired today!
Walgreens:
Nice Band-Aid deal if you buy the Walgreens' kid's coloring book for .99:
Buy 2 Band-aid ultra-strips for $2.99 each = $5.98
Use $1 Band-aid Q from coloring book = -$2
Use 2 - $1 Band-aid MQ from the paper = -$2
Total = $1.98 and you get a $3 RR
Also, I've heard from SlickDeals that the trial size Axe products work for the free movie ticket deal:
Buy 3 Axe products, get 1 movie ticket
Buy 4 Axe products, get 2 movie tickets
(Note: I tried this today and it didn't work, so YMMV! I was able to return them no prob.)
Bic Ultra Pens are 2/$1, so if you don't use the $1/2 Qs at Rite-Aid use them here for free pens.
If you need diapers, then they are one sale for B1/G1 50% off, use with the EasySaver Q for more $$ off (YMMV if you try and use the pharmacy Q on top of it, I know my Walgreens stores all received a memo from corporate saying this was a no-go)
Glade Flameless candles are $3.99 after rebate, so if you have a $5 Q or peelie (I can't find a live link) then this is a moneymaker.
Use the $1.99 in ad coupon for Scott TP with this $1 Q and your TP = .99
Use this HP $3 Q and get some more paper for your printer (that means more coupon printing!!!) = .99

Fun Shopping!

Okay, anybody that knows me knows that I LOVE dress-up! My baby has had a dress-up box since she was 1 month old! So, when I saw this post by Common Sense With Money, I had to check it out. Yep, got a Tinkerbell outfit for $4.99 and lots of shortie PJs!

Here's how it works:

  1. Go to ebates.com (sign-up if you haven't already - you get $10, I get $10!), you'll get 4% cash back on your purchase.

  2. At ebates, type in Disney in the search bar

  3. Go to Disneyshopping.com

  4. Click on DisneyOutlet and you'll see the $4.99 PJs and $4.99 Tinkerbell costume towards the bottom. There are lots of PJs to choose from, but only the Tinkerbell and Squirt baby costumes (although I was very tempted by the Nemo toddler costume!).

  5. If you spend $50, then you can get free shipping (Code: FREE50), otherwise it is a bit spendy at $8.50 for up to $25. There is a 10% off your purchase code, but it doesn't work with the free shipping code (DREAM10)

A bit spendy, I know, but it's tough to find good PJs and dress-up clothes!

Grocery Deals This Week 8/6

Yep, I know this is late, but my mail lady has it in for me - I swear! On Tuesday I got the Safeway ad (boring), the Top Foods ad and the coupon insert - no Albertsons!!! I kept hoping that somehow the mail fairies would bring me one, alas, no. So I had to go online and look (it's just not the same, I'm one of those folks that likes to flip through it and touch it...) Here's what I see -

Albertsons:

Huge ad, but not so many awesome deals. Their Buy 10, Get $5 back is filled with a bunch of products that seem overpriced or pretty darn snack-foody to me. It does make it pretty easy if you're trying to do the Kellogg's $10 rebate deal, since you can buy 10 Kellogg's products and get the $5 off. Still paying $20 bucks...so, I may have to skip it.

I do love free yogurt! Darigold is .50 and there are $1/2 Qs from 2 inserts ago. Woo-hoo!

I've heard mention of the Ken's Lite dressings being $1, so depending on your Albies (you may be able to get overage with the $2 Qs from last week's insert). Anybody know if this one is true?

Safeway:

I was able to use Safeway's 4/$6 Cheerios Super Coupon at Albertsons with these $1 Cheerios Qs = .50 a box. You can also use these $1 Qs on regular Cheerios as well. Not awesome, but since I do the self-check I got a $1.50 catalina coupon that I was able to use on this order as well, making it .50 for all 4 boxes!!!

Kinda bad when the only great deal I can find is to take their coupon to another store!

Oh, not sure what's up with this crazy ad - but Tava is marked 3/$9, but then it says 3/$5 really small in the corner??? If that is true then you can get a great deal with this $1.50 printable here, here or here. Also, this is the deal where I scored at Safeway when I had a raincheck for this price and it was part of the Summer Promo.

Top Foods:

They've got a pretty interesting Kellogg's promo going on - Buy $20 (10 Kellog's items), Get $20 voucher for your next shopping trip. You could buy $20 worth of stuff, send in for your $10 rebate = $10 total, plus $20 off your next purchase. Not too shabby!

I also like their free milk with your $25 purchase Q. I might partner that with the Kellogg's promo or just take it to Albies :)

Free Dannon yogurt here too with the $1/2 Q.

Monday, August 4, 2008

Let's Talk Coupons!

Okay, I have no idea how I missed it the first time...but I got the Kellogg's insert in this Sunday's paper! The awesome part is that it includes a $10 mail-in rebate when you buy 10 Kellogg's products in one transaction. This goes really well with the Kellogg's deals at Rite-Aid and Walgreens this week. If you don't feel like doing the drugstore thing, I checked over at Hot Coupon World and Albertson's will be doing a buy 10 items, get $5 off thing and guess what's included - Kellogg's products! Perfect! You'll have to wait until Wednesday (which isn't a big issue because the rebate doesn't start until tomorrow 8/5 anyway)

Also, I'm excited about the Buy $5 worth of Pert Plus/Sure products and $5 of school supplies $5 mail-in rebate. This should go wonderfully with the FAR Pert at Walgreens.

Grab the Ken's dressings $2 Qs too because this often goes on sale for $2 or less = free dressings!

What coupons are you guys excited about this week?

Free After Rebate:

Bausch & Lomb ReNu Solution twin pack - use with this $1 Q - page 6 - to make $$$ (note: this coupon scanned as a free bottle and asked the cashier to enter the full price of the item could mean a double freebie for you! I told her to enter what she thought was right.)

Today = Overage Day!

First off, I have no idea how I got so much overage at Safeway, but I'll take it! Here's what I did:

12 Tava (I used my 3/$5 raincheck and 12 $1.50 MQ - these are all over the coupon sites and don't expire until 1/09!) = .16 each

6 12-packs of Coke (I used my B2G3 raincheck, my 2 free Coke 12-pack vouchers from mycokerewards.com and it overlapped with the B2/G1 sale they were having - Thanks Tiff!) = 6 free

1 Frito-Lay chips (I was hungry, what can I say?) =$1.88

1 Ensure shakes (good for when I'm not in the mood to make lunch, used $3 printable) = $3.99

1 Hunt's ketchup (will mail in for TMF rebate if I don't like it) = $1.95

Now, I have no idea what the cashier did with my rainchecks, but she ended up deciding that my total should be -$15.38. Yes, she actually gave me $15.38 out of the till and a $10 catalina from buying 15 promo items. I swear that I asked her to check her math, but she seemed pretty certain that I was due that much overage and she had no problem handing me cash. Umm...okay!

Target:

5 Colgate Totals (used 5 -$1 Target Qs and 5 -$1.50 MQs) = .92 overage each one!

There are $1.50 MQs in the August All You, if you do this sweepstakes and at this link.

2 Super Cute Socks (used my overage to buy and these will make great presents for the multitude of folks I know who are having boys!) = $2.78 each

Total = .96+tax

Walgreens:

I just had to do the diaper deal 2 more times (different Walgreens this time!)

6 packs of training pants (used July/Aug ESQs and Pharmacy Q) = $6.06 overage

2 Sure Deodorants (used 2 -$1 MQ and $3 ESQ) = .99 and will send in for BOGO offer from the paper

2 Pantene Conditioners (used 2- $2 MQs and will get $4 ESR) = 2 free!

So, if everything goes well with my rebates and after taxes, I should be making $2.07!

I Saved $220.22 and Made $6.48!!!

I am going to make $6.48 after everything! As you can tell I did quite a few transactions!!! And no, I did not clean out the Walgreens that I went to, there were still plenty of diapers and training pants for other couponers to get. Also, I will be donating whatever I don't end up giving to friends or stockpiling.

Walgreens:

Made use of the July/August ESC overlap as well as the pharmacy coupon for the diapers and training pants. I did the math and I ended up with $3.03 overage each time, so I used that to buy little things that I needed: Candy for keeping me awake while I grade boring COEs, .05 mechanical pencils, FreshSacks diaper bags (will send in for this rebate), diaper cream, FAR G2 pens and Crayola markers.

I used my some of my $5 RRs from the diapers to finally buy JULY's FAR items - Therabreath kit, NatureMade vitamins, and the yummy chocolate bar!

Office Depot:

I ran in really quickly to pick up my free after rebate scientific calculator - nice deal! I thought for sure they wouldn't have any left.

Staples:

I guess that I missed the .01 and .05 supply deals, but I did get some of the super cute Zadoodles pencils that were FAR.

All said and done (including sale prices, rebates and coupons) I saved $220.22 and will actually make $6.48 (that is taking into account the tax that I paid), plus I still have $20 in RR to use!!!! Wow!!!

Check out other awesome deals at the Centsible Sawyer's Drugstore Divas!

Walgreens Diaper Deal Is Even Better 7/25-7/26

Just a quick heads-up that the July/August EasySaver Catalog overlap days are Friday and Saturday. There is another $5/2 diaper Q in the August catalog. So your deal might look like this:

Buy 3 packs of diapers @ $5.99 each = $17.97
Use July ES Q $5/2 (works on all 3) = -$7.50
Use August ES Q $5/2 = -$7.50
Use Pharmacy $2 Q = -$6
Potential moneymaker and you'll get $5 RR! Wow!

YMMV with this deal, but it's worth a try! Even if one of the Qs doesn't work, it's still a great deal!

Click here for the August ESC to print the Q in case your store doesn't have the catalog out yet.

Feeling The Love!

Thanks for the kind comments - I really appreciate it! I guess I need to work on my tough blogger skin :) As I mentioned in the last post, there are only a few things that I'll be heading out to get this week:

Albertsons:

After the last few weeks of incredible deals (I even tried to print more HBoO coups on every computer I came across!), there's really not much. Yes, there is a Spend $25, Get $10 Off Instantly deal, but it's all stuff that seems to go on sale much cheaper if you just wait. Also, the matching coupons are all for .50 or .55 off (great if you live in the land of doubles, but that's not my world!)

If I'm there anyway - maybe to get some .38/lb cantaloupe? - I might do the following:

Buy 2, Get 2 Air Wick aerosol sprays - use 2 of the BOGO Qs from the last paper and you should get all 4 free!

.69 Powerade (use with $1 or .75 Qs for some overage)

Have you been able to find the $1.24 small packs of CleanTeam wipes? These are awesome with the $3/2 Qs from the last mailer!

Safeway:

Here's one place that I'm not really feeling the love lately. They absolutely refuse to stock Tava - I have this great raincheck for 3/$5, but have been unable to use it for over a month!!! I've tried to special order it - nothing! Also, I have had a very difficult time with their promos, the catalina never prints out like it should and then I have to explain to the manager what the promo is and why I should get my cat. By the way, a catalina coupon is the skinny coupon that prints from the machine next to the receipt printer. At Walgreens these are the way you get your Register Rewards.

Safeway seems to have jacked their prices way up on everything involved with the Summer Promo and it's hard to do really well on this without wandering the store and bringing lots of coupons. That's what I've found at least. I was so excited about the $1 tofu that I was hearing about that worked for the promo (my baby loves this coated in brown sugar and baked) and so I went trying to stock up - nope, it's $1.50 here. That's why I bought 6 packs of hot dogs (they were only $1 and I know I'm going to be BBQing)!

Let's take some time and leave a comment about things that you have found (in NW prices) that fit this promo! Here's my list:

  • The Kraft Singles are finally on sale (still $4.99!!!!), but you can buy some cheap qualifying items and use your Parade magazine free Kraft Singles Q.
  • Are the Oscar Meyer Hot Dogs still $1? That's a great price!
  • Excedrin Back & Body 24 ct. is $2.99 and has a mail-in rebate and there are Qs out there.
  • If you have the $1 Nabisco tearpad Qs, these work on a few of the crackers that qualify and will knock the price down to $1.50-$2. Also nice if you have any of the free Kraft cheese peelies when you buy 2 boxes of Nabisco crackers. The deli sliced cheese are under the price of the Q.
  • Betty Crocker Cake mix is $1.50 and I am in LOVE with these cookies and so I'm buying a bunch of these!!! Mommy Making Money is such a kick-butt blog!

Also, did you grab the Free Nivea Lip Care Rebate form in the RedPlum insert that came with the grocery ads this week? Nice! There was also a Flex-a-min $5 Q if you want to try the Rite Aid rebate deal, but it's not nearly as sweet without the BOGO of last week.

Lastly, there is a free shampoo/conditioner opportunity at Walgreens - the Pantene Pro-V is 2/$8 and there is a $4/2 ESR and if you use 2-$2 Qs from the P&G insert = 2 free (these smell mega good P.S.) And I've heard that there are Bic highlighters that are 2/$1 and here is a $1/2 Q.

My Target has Colgate Total on clearance for $1.58 and there is a $1 Target Q here and $1.50 Manu. Q here. Potential overage!

Done Pouting...

So, I haven't updated my blog in a while and frankly, it was because I was feeling like nobody was reading it! It's really hard to put the time into finding the deals and coupons while getting my house ready to sell and then no comments....none!!!! I kept thinking that the last few posts would warrant something - but sadly, no. Thus, my weeklong pouting session. Now I'm over it, but won't be blogging that much since I'm back to work for a couple of weeks. Yep, grading the WASL Alternative Math Portfolios.

So here's what I've been checking out lately:

Walgreens:

The diaper deal is back!!! Diapers are again $5.99. Buy 3 and use the ESC Q and the Pharmacy Q, pay $4.47 plus tax and get $5 RR! This is definitely still working (I checked myself with some training pants).

.05 School Supplies - use the Qs in the weekly ad.

Free After Rebate: G2 Pens and Crayola markers (sweet deal!)

Safeway:

My first trip to do the Summer Marathon Promo didn't go so well, but here's what I did this last time:

6 Oscar Meyer Hot Dogs (on sale for $1 each, counted as my Oscar Meyer products for the free cheese)
2 Kraft Singles (used free cheese Qs from the Parade magazine)
1 Oscar Meyer Turkey Bacon (used $1 Q from a magazine insert -Women's Day?)
3 Marathon bars ($1.25 each)
1 EAS bar (used free Q from a mail-in offer)
1 Excedrin Back and Body (used $2 MQ and $1 Store Q - will send in for mail-in rebate)
1 Betty Crocker Cake mix
The rest of the stuff wasn't part of the promo:
1 Fat-free milk
4 Soy Dream soymilks
1 Box of brown sugar
Used $10 off from last promo attempt and $1 cat from the last time I bought Excedrin, so my total was $12.81. Plus, I got a $10 cat from the promo and $1 cat from the soymilk and I'll be sending in for the full rebate for the Excedrin!
Albertsons was awesome last week, but I'm not seeing any great deals this week. I'll check over the ad some more tonight.
Thanks for reading!!!

Some More Rite-Aid Deals!

A few deals that I didn't mention:

  • Purina Dog and Cat food is $3.49, use this $4 Q to make some money! (You have to fill out the info to get the coupon, but it's a good cause and free dog/cat food when you're done! Make sure to hit the back button, so that you can print 2 Qs!)
  • Lysol Neutra Air is BOGO, use your BOGO Qs from last month's and this month's papers to get 2 free!
  • There is a hidden deal with the Flex-a-min Glucosamine (the red topped bottle, 60 ct., not in a box). It is BOGO this week for $12.99. You can use 2 of the $5 Qs from the paper a while back and then both should qualify for a SCR. Potential $$$ = ~$7 and free glucosamine! This deal is good all month.
  • Also, the John Frieda travel-size hairspray is reportedly working for the SCR. Buy 3 and get $5, then use the $3/2 or $1/1 tearpad Qs from the cardboard display to make more $$. I couldn't find any of these, but I'll keep looking. Good moneymaker! This deal is good all month.

I paid $4.52 (my subtotal was only $1.97!), but if all goes well with my rebates, then I should be getting $10 back = a profit of $5.48! I'll let you know!

I actually had a cashier apologize to me because she had turned away my internet coupons last time that I was there. I guess after I left, she had a meeting with her manager and now they accept internet coupons. YMMV (your mileage may vary), but the RA that I hated shopping at, is now a bit better. Plus, my doggies love free dog food!

4 New Books for .52!!!!

I was so excited when I read about Half Price Books' Summer Reading Program because I love books and the program doesn't have a minimum age!!! We read to our baby every day before naps and nighttime so I definitely think that should count! Here's the deal:

  1. Go to Half Price Books and pick up some reading logs (the program runs from June 1-August 2, so 8 logs???)

  2. Fill them out and return them to the store for $3 gift cards - you get one card for each week.

  3. You cannot use the cards in the same transaction, so you will have to break up your purchases into separate transactions. Best deal is to buy books that are right around $3.

Here's what I got for .52:

3 Sparkly DK books $2.98 each (these are brand new and I love them because they have pics of real little girls playing dress-up!)

1 Make Believe Princess book $3.49 (also brand new!)

I didn't pay tax on anything under $3, so the first three books were totally free! I will be going back to turn in the rest of my logs by August 2 for sure! Also, if you are a teacher they have a great teacher discount card.

.32 @ Albies

I did a quick run to Albies yesterday to use up the 3 remaining Planters Qs that I had and take advantage of the last day of the Planters cat. I needed yakisoba noodles to use up the snow peas and broccoli that I had from my veggie box this week. So here's what I got:

12 packs of Kool-Aid

2 Planters Cocktail peanuts

1 Planters Pistachios (I love pistachios!)

1 onion

1 package of yakisoba noodles

Total before Qs: 19.82

After Qs and $6.50 catalina: .32

Woo-hoo! Dinner and pistachios for .32! Also, I got a $4 cat for buying the Planters!

I might also be sending in for a free hat from Planters - check it out!

A Few Deals...

The house is clean and the pictures are taken, so back to finding the deals!!!

Rite-Aid:

I was excited about a few things and excited to get out of the house - so here's what I went out and bought:

Electrasol Powerball Tabs $2.99 (used a $2.25 Q from this week's paper and will get a $2 rebate = $1.26 overage!)

Wisp Flameless Candle $7.99 (used a $5 printable here and will get a $3 rebate = .01 overage)

Crest Whitening Expressions toothpaste $2.49 (used .75 P&G Q and will get $2.49 rebate = .75 overage)

2 L'Oreal Hydra Vive Conditioners $4.99 BOGO (used BOGO Q from this week's paper = 2 free conditioners!)

The Electrasol is what I was really excited about. It's tough to find free dishwasher detergent, let alone one with overage!!!

Also, grab the $30 Prescription transfer Q in the ad, this one has a longer expiration date.

Walgreens:

Pretty lame RR week, I'm glad I rolled my diaper RRs on batteries last week. Nothing that I'm dying to do.

If you haven't done the Hershey's movie deal, you can get 6 Hershey's bags 2/$5 or 8 Twizzlers 2/$4 and then get $5 back when you buy $15 worth (EasySaver Catalog rebate).

You can also use your BOGO Q for L'Oreal to get 2 free here as well.

I'm hoping for a $$/$$$ Q this week. Then maybe I'll make the trek to Walgreens!

Top Foods:

The Super Coupons that they have on the front of their ad, aren't so super - but I'm saving the $10/$50 Q to try and use at Albertsons.

Friday, July 11, 2008

Sorry!

Totally sorry that I have been slacking on my deal-posting. We are in the process of packing, cleaning, de-cluttering...to put our house on the market. Yes, we're moving!!! More about that later.

So here's what's up at Albertsons this week:

When you buy 10 General Mills products, you get 2 free movie tickets - (there are so, so many General Mills Qs out there - check out this link, this one, this one or just go to HCW's Coupon Database and search for what you need!)

$1.49
Bisquick
Betty Crocker Cake Mix and Frosting (there are reportedly some peelies on the product)
Betty Crocker Suddenly Salad or Potatoes
Progresso Bread Crumbs
Betty Crocker Brownie Mix
Betty Crocker Hamburger, Chicken or Tuna Helper
Pop Secret Popcorn
Bugles
Chex Snack Mix

$1.99
GM Cereals (this includes Cheerios!!!)
Betty Crocker Cookie Pouch
Betty Crocker Warm Delights
Betty Crocker Premium Brownies
Fiber One Bars
Betty Crocker Muffin Mix
Pillsbury Toaster Strudel or Scrambles
Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks
Nature Valley, Curves or Caribou Bars

$2.49
Yoplait Yogurt, Go-Gurt or Kids Yogurt Drink

That's kinda the big thing this week at Albies. If you want to do the Planters nuts and marshmallow catalinas again those end on 7/13.

Safeway:

It's all about this promo and using your Super Coupons in this week's ad to make this deal even better. Start rolling those $20 catalinas!!! I'll let you know how I do with my Tava rainchecks!

Tuesday, July 8, 2008

FINALLY!!!

Safeway finally has a new promo! Of course, this would be the week that my grocery ads did not show up on Tuesday. Luckily Mommy Making Money already has the scoop! Check it out! I am personally so stoked that I still have my 3/$5 Tava raincheck with my $1.50 off of Tava Qs! Yes! I also noticed that Kraft Singles are on the list and I still have my free Kraft when you buy 3 products from the Parade magazine. Sweet! I'll try and post more when I have the ads in my hands.

Walgreens Diaper Deal Works!

I went to Walgreens on my way to the George Michael concert last night (yep, I know you're jealous - it was phenomenal!) and the diaper deal really works! I did it twice because I had 2 RRs to use up. It really does work out to $4.47 + tax and you will get a $5 RR! I also took advantage of the BOGO Sure deodorant (which is a mail-in form, not a Q). I used 2 - $1 MQ and the $3 ESQ (EasySaver Coupon) and I just put the stamp on my BOGO rebate, so I should make $2 on my 2 deodorants. I also asked for my Qs back from the diaper deal and they gave them back to me. The Asst. Manager came over and asked how I did it so that he could tell his wife!

Some things to be aware of with the diaper deal:

  1. I was not able to get the Qs to scan on the diapers that were marked 'W', they have to say 'Walgreens'. I think they are trying to phase out the older packaging.
  2. The limits on the Qs do not matter, so you should be doing 3 per transaction with no problem. Don't be a meanie and do this deal so many times that everyone else misses out though!
  3. You can mix and match sizes and diapers/training pants, but they need to be the Jumbo size packages (they are $5.99 this week).
  4. Remember that you can't roll your RRs on the same deal so if you use your $5 RR from this deal to do it again, you won't get a new RR.

Supermarket Deals 7/2

So glad that I made it to Albertsons yesterday! After checking out the upcoming ads, I almost went one more time! This week looks pretty lame. No fun promos :(

Albertsons:

Buy 2 refrigerated Jell-O products (2/$6) and get a free Cool Whip aerosol. Chances are you can't use the $1 Cool Whip Q, since it's already free and my store was totally cleaned out of these anyway. There are Qs from the last insert for the Jell-O.

Ball Park beef franks are BOGO and you get free Sara Lee Hot Dog buns. Click here for Ball Park coupons.

Tillamook Ice Cream is 2/$6. I love Tillamook because their cows aren't treated with hormones.

Wish-Bone dressing are 2/$4, use this $1 Q.

Finally Made it to Albies

I really wanted to get to Albertsons to take advantage of the Kraft deal and the Baby Care deal before they expired. Here's how I did:

1 Pampers diapers (used $3 cat. Q and $5/2 Target Q)
1 Pampers wipes (used $5/2 Target Q and .75 cat. Q)
5 Gerbers puffs (used $1/3 cat. Q and .75/2 cat. Q)
3 Planters nuts (used 3 - $3 Q)
3 Jell-O puddings (used .50/3 tearpad Q)
3 Marshmallows (used $1 MQ)
1 Nilla Wafers (used $1 tearpad Q)
4 Pearl Soymilk (no Qs, we just use the stuff and they're on sale for $1)
2 Digiornio for one pizzas (used 2 - $1 MQ)
1 Wild Harvest organic milk (used $1 MQ)
1 Aquafresh (used $1.50 competitor cat. and $1 MQ = .50 overage)
3 organic bananas (for the baby!)
1 Huggies cleanteam wipes (these are super cheap, but I forgot my $1 Q!)
2 Cool-whips (they didn't have the aerosol ones :(, but I used a tearpad Q that I found by the bananas to get 1 free)

This is the first time that I've had trouble getting the automatic $5 to come off, but the cashier had to actually punch it through. Weird. I put all my Kraft stuff first and my total (no tax) was $20.50, so I don't know what's up. I also rolled my $5 Baby Care cat.

My total oop: $23.61
Total savings: $65.21

Received $12 in Catalina Qs for my next trip, so really this trip cost: $11.61!!! Nice!

Are You Ready For Some Target Fun?

Here are the 2 winners of the $5/3 Target coupons: Erin and Kate! Please email me your address Erin. Kate, I've already got yours (perfect timing)! Please report back about what you picked up. The coupons are good until 7/31! I am so excited to go and use mine on some Band-aids and Buddies soap...I love overage! Ohh, and those BOGO Stayfree Qs that were in last week's insert. Hmm...

Deals This Week 6/29

FINALLY! I am referring to the Safeway ad which finally has some Super Coupons! I was in there Saturday and pretty much just wandered around gaping at the non-sale prices everywhere!

Safeway (good until Friday 7/4):

Buy 2, Get 3 Free Participating Coke & Pepsi 12-packs

Super Coupons (which I might be taking to Albies to match, since I haven't gotten there yet):

.99 Heinz ketchup
2/$3 Kraft American singles
3/$3 Oscar Mayer Meat Wieners
$1.47 Cheez-Its
2/$3 Dixie Plates, Cups or Bowls (awesome that these are cheaper than the Safeway brand!)
$2 off Duracell batteries
$4.49 Safeway trash bags
2/$9 Gatorade 8-pack
2/$5 Hormel Black Label sliced bacon
$1.99 Lucerne butter (better butter deal @ Fred Meyer this week)
$5.99 lb. Jumbo Raw Shrimp (2 lb. bag, so $11.98)

Remember that the Super Coupons have item limits and you have to have a $10 purchase to use them (although I have found that the $10 is calculated off of the regular price, so this is usually pretty easy if you are buying stuff that normally would have been $10)

Walgreens:

The big deal this week is Walgreens Brand Diapers (I haven't tried these, so I can't tell you if they're good or not).

Buy 3 diapers @ $5.99 each = $17.97
Use $5/2 ESQ = -$7.50
Use $2 Q from the red pharmacy booklet = -$6

Pay $4.47 for 3 packs of diapers and get a $5 RR!!! Not bad!!!! I may roll my Planters RR on this! Thanks to Centsible Sawyer for the heads-up!

Overage possibility with the Sure deodorant Qs from this weeks inserts:
Buy 2 Sure deodorants = $5.98
Use BOGO Q = -$2.99
Use $1 Q = -$1
Use ESQ = -$3

Total should be $1.01 in overage! Give your MQ first and make sure that you have other items to absorb the overage and make it so that you don't have too many Qs! Thanks Centsible Sawyer.

Twizzlers are .99 w/ In-ad Q, The 16 oz. packs should work for the $5 ES Rebate when you buy $15 worth. I haven't checked the sizes, but this may also work with the movie tix deal.

There is also an ES Rebate for some Kraft products where you get $5 for buying $15 worth of products. Planters peanuts are included! Freebies 4 Mom found a link for new $3 Planters coupons! So you can print 2 more!

There are cleaners and air freshners that are 2/$3 after rebate. Many of them have coupons and so are very cheap after rebate and coupons (here are some Woolite and Spray and Wash coupons and there were Scrubbing Bubbles coupons in the paper a little while ago).

Scunci Hair accessories are 3/$10 with a $5 RR.

Post cereals are 2/$5 and you get a $2 RR (this includes HBoO!!) So you can make some RRs if you have the free cereal coupons. Otherwise, this is a pretty good price for Grape-nuts and Shredded Wheat which don't seem to be on sale often.

Centsible Shopper has the July FAR items. Not sure if these coupons will work on the Therabreath Starter Kit, but that kit includes most of the items.

Rite-Aid:

Oxy Face Wash or Shaving Cream is free after SCR. Use one of the $1 Qs from the last few papers to make $$

There is a 3-Day rebate on Giovanni Shampoo or Conditioner (good until 7/1), so it is free after SCR as well.

Pert Plus is 2/$5, depending on the types that are included in the sale, you can use your $2 or $3 Qs from this week's paper to get them .50 ea. or they are a $$maker.

Not a bad week, especially with the Walgreens diaper deal.

Woo-hoo! I just got some of these in the mail! So, I'm sharing the wealth. On Monday (6/30) at 8pm PST I will pick 2 winners randomly. Each winner will get 2 of the infamous $5/3 Band-Aid, Neutrogena, Carefree, Stayfree, Johnson's, Tylenol or Neosporin Target coupons!!! So fun, so many overage possibilities!

That's it - easy-peasy!

Super Helpful Cashier...$3.14 total

So I made the mistake of putting down my coupons for a second and my cashier pounced on them! I had them all organized to make sure that I could get overage on my Maalox (I had read that you need to give 1 Wag coupon, then manuf. coupons, then the other Wag coupon to make this work) and she proceeded to take out all of the Wag coupons and try those first, then head to the manuf. coupons. Needless to say, I was totally thrown and had a hard time watching the coupons go through, so I don't know exactly what worked and what didn't! To her credit, she was really trying to help and she did hook me up by using the cat. coupon for the Dixie plates on this order rather than making me wait to use it on my next order (her idea, not mine!). So from what I can tell, the double ESC coupons worked for the Nutripals and the M&Ms, but not the Maalox.

Here's what I got with my $5/$20 Q:

3 Liquid Maalox (used $2 MQ and $2 ESQ)

2 Maalox Chewables (used $1.50 MQ and $2 ESQ)

2 Theragran-M Vitamins (used $4 WQ and they were BOGO)

2 Dark Choc. M&Ms (used .75 MQ and $1/2 ESQ x2)

2 Dixie Plates (used $3 Cat. and they were BOGO)

2 Nutripals Bars (used $1 MQ and $1.50 ESQ and $2 ESQ)

3 Planters Trail Mixes (used .99 WQ)

1 Listerine (used .75 MQ and $2 WQ - we really need this!)

1 Ecotrin (used .75 MQ)

All in all, I spent $11.13 oop - my total savings = $71.90! Not bad! And I'll be getting $6.99 back in rebates + I got a $1 RR for my Planters! So, that's $3.14 total!

I also did a second transaction to buy stamps, since you just can't get stamps at a $5 discount anywhere else!

Looks Like I'm Going to Walgreens Tomorrow!

Here's to a link to another $5/$20 purchase coupon to Walgreens, tomorrow (6/27) only. Why they really want us to shop there on Fridays, I don't know, but I'll take it! It again has the wording that the minimum subtotal must be $20 after coupons, but the last one worked with manuf. coupons. It is definitely true that the $20 subtotal must be after Wag coupons. Here are some options for your purchase:

  • Planters trail mix is .99 with in-ad Wag coupon and when you buy 3, you get $1 RR, when you buy 4, you get $1.50...
  • Money Saving Mom has a good idea for stocking up on cheap Dixie paper plates (isn't there a coupon for this as well?)
  • Finish buying your June FAR items
  • This Planters nut catalina is still going on, so if you can find some cheap Kraft/Nabisco items to buy 3 of and use this coupon, you can earn some more RR. The mac n' cheese is no longer on sale, but it has been reported that the Nabisco Cakesters are a cheap option.
  • Friday will be one of those overlap days for the June and July EasySaver catalogs, so there may be some good deals with that. Here's the discussion over at Hot Coupon World. I may be picking up some Nutripals and batteries!
  • Do the Bertolli's/Ragu, etc., deal where you buy $15, get $5 RR and stock up on some food and a $5 filler.
  • Buy some GM cereal ($3/7) and get $2 RR.
  • If they will let you buy stamps or something like that, that normally isn't on sale.
  • Check out Hooray for Freebates' post about what rebates are due by the end of the month.

Here are this week's deals. What are you going to do with this coupon?

Here's the Link

Here's the official link to the new Thomas coupon (you can print as many times as you want while it is open, so print a few before you close it!) Good until 6/26!

What Do You Think?

Okay, so I actually am pretty new to this whole couponing thing (just a few months now), but I am quickly being educated by personal experience, helpful cashiers, and great forums like Slickdeals and Hot Coupon World. What I have come to realize is that you have to create your own guidelines or rules about how to use coupons. If you have been reading the frenzy surrounding the Free Thomas Train coupon (which by the way has been replaced by a different coupon that is only good until 6/26 - print the NEW coupon on the forum link), you'll realize that there are some folks who have some very different ideas about how to use coupons (I was personally a bit shocked by the folks who have used the coupon like 100 times!!!) Are you serious?! So it is time for me to sit down and think about what are my rules:

  1. If a coupon doesn't beep, then it's totally legit to use it. Here's my example: The Huggies coupons that are out there, work on any Huggies product. You can use the $1 diapers, to buy wipes. It doesn't beep, so I don't see a problem with it. I guess Manager Rob's statement that "the company just wants you to buy their products" makes sense to me.
  2. If a coupon states "Limit one per person" the most I will do is 2, since my daughter is usually shopping with me and she counts as a person. Also, I don't think that 2 is going to clear out stock, now if you're talking 5, 10, 15...that's when you're cutting into the fun of other couponers. How much does it suck to get to the store and none of the products that you are looking for are there? I personally had to limit myself with the recent Reynold's Wrap sale because I had lots of coupons that I had bought off the internet, but I didn't want to clear out their store. After a few trips and a few different stores, I ended up with 13 anyway!
  3. If a company puts a coupon in .pdf form, then it is okay to share it. If you have a .pdf coupon, then it will not have a unique barcode (ex: The Blue Bunny $1 coupon), so it is perfectly okay to share with others. It is not okay to post copies of coupons that you get from the paper or that have unique barcodes (like the coupons that you print on coupons.com).
  4. I will take extra peelies and tearpad coupons to use at other stores or at a later date, but I always try and make sure that I am taking what I will use and that I am leaving some for the person who is buying that product right now.

I guess that overall, I try and make sure that I'm not doing anything that will make it so that a company doesn't get their money back from the manufacturer. Like, I just found a bunch of $5 formula checks in my "craft" room(also known as crap room, cause it has become the dumping ground) and boy was I tempted to use them - I mean it's $5!!! But I knew it wasn't right, so I just resigned up at those sites to see if I was eligible to receive more. Yep, they just came in the mail the other day.

What are your rules? How do you use coupons and feel good about the deals that you got?

Good Money Making Day!

I checked my mailbox today - over $65 in checks!!! My Rite Aid SCR rebate check, my rebate from my Handi-Vacs and $10 from a survey that I did. So great! I also had a good day shopping - is my house clean?! - nope! But I got some great deals! Above is my Albies trip. Here is what I love about Albertsons:

  1. Self-check lanes - you can make sure that each coupon goes through and you can use the coupons that print right away!

  2. You can use promo catalinas on the same promo (like I used the $5 cat that I got from the last time that I did the Baby Care deal and I got a new $5 cat at the end of the transaction!)

  3. They take competitors coupons! They took my Target $5/2 Pampers coupon and my $1 off of Colgate coupon no problem!

I paid $10.96 for all the stuff above and walked out with a fistful of new coupons and a $5 catalina for my next trip!

*While you're at Albies, take advantage of this deal that CJ found: Check out blue diamond almonds (8 oz jar like container) at Albertsons- 2/$5 with a $1/1 coupon available and you get a $1.50 OYNO when you buy 2. So that ends up being 75 cents a jar after 2 coupons! For ALMONDS! *

On to other good news - My local Toys R' Us still had Thomas trains left, so I picked up 2 of those for free. So cute!

I also picked up my free 100 ct. prenatal vitamins from Top Foods. I'm going to see about transferring it to Rite-Aid for a $30 gift card - I'll let you know!

Wal-Mart hooked me up again (oh, how I hate, yet like them) and even the cashier remarked "$3.28! That's a good day at Wal-Mart!"

Here's my loot:

3 Cascadian Farms Veggies (not $1.22 like other Wal-Mart stores, but $.98 after a $1 coupon isn't bad for organic)

2 Blue Bunny Bomb Pops (.50 after the coupon here - thanks Centsible Sawyer!)

2 Johnsons Buddies soaps (a few of my coupons were about to expire, and hello, overage!)

1 Clean & Clear trial size (again overage w/ coupon)

2 Thomas trains (my Wal-Mart accepts these coupons, they actually say MFR down at the bottom!)

3 O.B. tampon packs (free after $1 coupons that I picked up at Safeway a few weeks ago)

2 Gold Bond trial size lotions (free after $1 coupons here)

1 Oral-B Dental Floss (used $1 P&G coupon from the paper, thanks Centsible Sawyer)

I saved about $35 and paid only $3.28!
